the established Daihatsu begin to initiate for developed hybrid cars such as Atray Hybrid

TOKYO - Perhaps Daihatsu retreat from Europe because this automotive company wanted to focus on environmentally friendly technologies (specially for hybrid) and it has been stated by evoked its influential principals of Daihatsu Motor Company. The project, according to DMC it will be commenced this year and the technology is transferred from the "brother" Toyota claimed as the parent company.

Daihatsu President Director Koichi Ina as reported by bloomberg, yesterday (19/1/2010) said the company will determine the type of vehicle used.




In 2002, Daihatsu has a hybrid concept car using the Hijet Cargo with 660 cc engine. This Hijet Atrai has another title, Extrol, if in Italy, it is called by the Piaggio Porter or the Toyota is named by Sparky.

Daihatsu's own hybrid technology called Daihatsu Mild Hybrid System (DMHS). Based from Toyota, there are only a few differences in the design, especially for gas and electrical components. The position of the electric motor is located between the engine and transmission. Fuel consumption 30 percent is claimed to be more efficient.

Hybrid technology is to try again in 2006 through Atrai engined 660 cc 3-cylinder, Twin Cam with DVVT (Dynamic Variable Valve Timing). The system is a parallel between a gasoline engine and electric motor.

While hybrid is still in progress or development, Daihatsu will be ready to launch a compact car, Daihatsu e: S in August 2011 at a price below 1 million yen. Fuel consumption is 30 liters per km.
