Ford Focus EV is ready to lunch in electric car market next year to Challenges Nissan LEAF for Electric Car Leadership

Electric car named Focus produced by Ford will be driven by a lithium-ion batteries areequipped with cooling fluid.

All New electric car 'Focus' will debut in the United States next year, it will be powered by lithium-ion batteries that use liquid cooling and heating. This liquid will help to extend battery life and make efficient electricity.

Thermal management of lithium-ion battery is a critical-critical in all electric vehicles, due to extreme temperatures may affect vehicle performance. Therefore, Ford chose active liquid which has the power cooling and heating to keep the stable battery temperature.

"This is to maximize battery performance in a variety of temperatures," said Sheriff Marakby, director of Ford for the electrification program & Engineering in the official statement of Ford, Wednesday, September 8, 2010. "Fluid system is more effectively than air cooling system."

Electric car of Focus will be assembled at the assembly plant Michigan, United States. The vehicle is able to crawl 100 miles without using fuel at all.

Electric Focus is one of Ford's electric vehicle to be launched in the next three years. Electric Car Focus and Ford Transit Connect commercial electric van is a small car to be produced in the end of 2010. Then followed two latest generation of hybrid electric cars, including plug-in hybrid vehicle to be launched in the North American market in 2012 and Europe in 2013.
