General Motors prepare to face competitive market of India especially for their electric cars, Chevrolet Spark

For automotive manufacturers world, India is the small car market with huge potential. Naturally, besides having a population of 1.1 billion people or the second largest in the world after China, the rate of Indian economy is growing above 6.5 percent. In fact, this year the country's government pegged the growth rate of 7 percent.

India was included in the category of 'emerging market countries' of the countries emerging markets, in addition to Brazil, and China. Because of that, many automotive manufacturers invaded the country to peddle their products cars, especially small cars. it is no exception of General Motors (GM), the manufacturer from the United States.



After launching a small car Chevrolet Spark, GM is now preparing Spark brand-new electric-powered car for the Indian market. It plans a compact car introduced to the market early 2011.

"In accordance with the General Motors project schedule, we set up e-Spark at the end of 2010, and it will launch in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2011," said Chetan Maini, Deputy Chairman, Reva, as quoted from just-auto, Saturday (17 / 4) .

For this project, GM took a local firm Reva Electric Company. As with conventional engine Spark, Spark electricity was also produced at GM's assembly plant in Talegaon in Pune, India. "The construction and engineering (electrical Sprak car was-red) is not much different from conventional Spark,"

E-Spark Energy sources are derived from EV RECC electric battery which it produces two types of energy that is, the regular and Boost. Maini calls, e-Spark is a four-passenger electric car firstly marketed in India.
