Yaris R1A's hoped by Toyota to be the first automaker to FIA approval for a capacity of 1400 cc car
Cologne, Germany - FIA approval is necessary in order to compete in any car rally scene from regional, national, international and even up to the World Rally Championship. Toyota previously followed the WRC event in the 1990's with a rally driver Carlos Sainz and Juha Kankunnen who drove the Celica GT-Fours. In 1999 TMG withdraw from WRC to concentrate on Formula 1. "TMG R1A Yaris is a car that is very different from our previous WRC car. Car is affordable but attractive. This makes all the major rally event can be accessed by all participants," said President Yoshiaki Kinoshita TMG.
