Scion FR-S is derived from Toyota GT 86 and Subaru BRZ

LOS ANGELES - Scion FR-S is derived from Toyota GT 86 and Subaru  BRZ. This sport sedan four-cylinder engine equipped with a 2.0 liter Subaru Boxer engine with a system inherited from the D-4S direct injection, which was developed by Toyota.
 
Scion FR-S is able to develop a total output to 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm engine speed, with maximum torque reaching 151 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. Units of this machine combined with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, or six-speed automatic transmission as optional.


Toyota decided not to develop a variant of the Scion FR-S convertible version to be released in the U.S. market. The reason, the model will have a high price.
 
Currently, the Japanese manufacturer is developing a variant of a sports sedan with a 86 GT convertible models (no roof). Meanwhile, Subaru BRZ will also release a convertible version.
 
Model without this roof is anticipated consumer sedan two-door sport coupe. Only, Toyota thought it would not fit this model for consumers in the U.S.. For that Toyota does not produce the Scion FR-S Convertible in the land of Uncle Sam.
 
As reported by Automotive News, the development of a model without a roof can make the selling price of the Scion FR-S is getting higher. Currently, the Scion FR-S version of the manual is released at a price of $ 25 thousand  in the U.S..
