RX-Sport is assembled in Ontario in the Toyota's plan and commitment

Throughout the first half of this year, Toyota has sold 18 270 units recorded in the U.S. sedan, up 10 percent over the same period the previous year. The best selling product, RX SUV and ES sedans. Talk of global scope, the Lexus ES has sold 74 000 units or 18 percent of the composition of total sales.

Lexus ES's  ready to launch in August 2012 with a sales target of 10,000 units per month. Of that total, 5,000 units are prepared for the U.S. market and 3,000 units for China, rest of other countries in the world. Along years ago, Lexus managed to sell 404 000 units worldwide and hopes to improve his performance peak achieved in 2007 which is 518 000 units.

Toyota Motor Corporation launched the Lexus ES in Japan, last weekend. With this launch, Toyota insists his main priority at the same time for maintaining production in Japan, at least 3 million units per year despite the strengthening of the yen exchange rate continued to decrease of export gains.

With this amount, the total production capacity of Toyota in the world, 40 percent were still donated by Japan. Toyota's Lexus is the key factor to maintain its commitment to maintain employment for residents of Japan. Until now, the entire production of Lexus in Japan, only one RX-Sport is assembled in Ontario, Canada.

This decision also had a devastating effect on the Lexus, because it would rely heavily on the yen exchange rate. However, TMC believes the strategy to maintain production in Japan will be rewarded accordingly in due course.

"We have no plans to stay until the last point at which the business can not function anymore. But for a car like the ES, we see the cost of production in Japan is still possible even if the yen rose 80 per U.S. dollar. Our policy is to protect the manufacturing activities in Japan as much and as long as possible, "beber Kazuo Ohara, Executive Vice President Lexus International, as reported by Autonews (08/07/2012).

Lexus's decision is also contrary to other luxury brands in the world. Both Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW has begun to shift its production to countries potential, one China. In fact, Infiniti - Nissan's - were also assured of assembling vehicles in China from 2014. They are competing to shift production to avoid the burden of imported luxury car tax set by the government 25 percent.

"At one point Toyota would have to move production out to be competitive because the cost of production," beber Masatoshi Nishimoto, an analyst with IHS Automotive for Japan-Korea. According to him, Toyota was able to last about five years into the future and continue to have positive results in the domestic market.
