Nissan will revive Datsun brand


Nissan also plans to increase its sales network to 150 dealers by 2015. And for that, the company will invest U.S. $ 396 million.

A FEW weeks ago reported about the plan that Nissan will revive Datsun brand in emerging markets. The news was confirmed by Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn Alliance last week.

To the media, Ghosn announced the return of the Datsun brand that will become a global brand after the third Nissan Infiniti, as well as revealing new Datsun logo which will be used.

Datsun name was first used in Japan in 1931. In 1981 Nissan decided to change the name to Nissan to bring up the name of a company that was a long process to finally name Nissan successfully flown.

Ghosn said that the later Datsun cars will go on sale in India, Indonesia and Russia in 2014. "It will be the vehicle that is environmentally friendly, affordable, small-capacity machine, and have high local content," said Ghosn.

During his visit in Indonesia, Carlos Ghosn announced measures to strengthen the production base and sales in the country to increase production capacity to 250 thousand per year in 2014 with the addition of manpower to 3,300 people.
