Honda and Yamaha negatively responds for the change of new MotoGP's rules

Factory team boss, Vittoriano Guareschi, told MCN: "This is a Dorna's decision to cut costs, but the Ducati, it's much easier to adapt the bike, because when the rules were changed, we are just starting to build motorcycles.

"So for us, it's much easier to raise as much as 4 kg of weight machines. Of course they (the Japanese motorcycle) has completed the bike and for them, it's not easy to increase the weight of the machine. But we did not take part in this decision. Our new Motor just begun to be built, and other machines are ready. We did not ask about it. "

Honda and Yamaha inflamed with the decision to increase the minimum weight of a new generation of MotoGP motorcycle 1000 cc engine. The reason, they have to invest even more, both in terms of financial and human resources for the development of the new machine.

Initially, the minimum weight for the new generation engine is 153 pounds, so the two teams are already well prepared. But, after meeting the Grand Prix Commission in December last, the decision was changed because the minimum weight increased to 157 kilograms, which means that must be added 4 Kg.

It's a loss for us, because the motor has been developed with a weight specifications as desired. But now, we have to add more weight

- Casey Stoner

Well, due to the change, Honda and Yamaha have to move quickly to meet those standards, so it can be tested at official pre-season test in Sepang, Malaysia, last month. This is the time to make the MotoGP world champion 2007 and 2011, Casey Stoner, giving criticism.

"It makes it more frustrating. We already have a bike that was developed, and then they decided to change the regulation. So, we must add 4 Kg weight on the motor again," said Repsol Honda rider.

"It's a loss for us, because the motor has been developed with a weight specifications as you wish. But now, we have to add more weight.

"It gives effect to the motor. It's not a lot of things you notice when driving in general, but just felt in the middle of the bend. We should try to adjust again, and overcome it. The disappointment, the decision was made so late."

HRC boss Shuhei Nakamoto support Stoner criticism during the trial's second official pre-season in Sepang, last week, where Honda again dominate as Stoner and Dani Pedrosa was ranked 1-2. To MCN, Nakamoto said that with the new thing, then they have to start from scratch.

"When you do something different, you should test the reliability of zero. Our philosophy is to test a minimum of 2,000 kilometers, and will not be cheap. I am very disappointed about this.

"We did a test at Valencia, and after this trial, all of a sudden the rules changed and it is not fair. I do not know why the rules changed."

The same money, Yamaha felt the same. Frustration that their senior race boss said, Masahiko Nakajima, while testing the official pre-season last week in Sepang.

"Personally I was so frustrated about the decision of the Grand Prix Commission. In December, it was not possible. We've made a number of sections to be paired, and some spare parts. So, to make changes to 4 Kg, it is not possible. It is rather difficult. For me , it is not the technical rules for a reason sports, and I am very frustrated about this, "he told MCN.

Rumors in the paddock leading to Ducati, which is suspected as the trigger of the rule changes. Team based in Bologna that allegedly continued to press for a change of rules to raise the minimum weight, because the new Ducati Desmosedici GP12 is heavier than 153 Kg. Moreover, when a certain minimum weight of 157 Kg, Ducati Ducati has not yet started building a new specification, so they do not spend a lot of cost.
