TOKYO - New Outlander will not be produced in Europe, following Mitsubishi's decision to end production at the Dutch factory, due to declining production volumes in Europe.
Mitsubishi's ready to showcase all-new Mitsubishi Outlander, which is scheduled to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 next month. This is the third generation of the Outlander, which is now equipped with a hybrid model that has a lower CO2 emission levels.
New Outlander actually had to show off at the Tokyo Motor Show as the PX-MiEV concept car II. And the production version of the Outlander Sport is not much different from the concept version, with a softer front fog lamps designed with a circular, slightly revised front grille and lower front bumper.
Sleek mirror part on the concept model, has also been replaced with a more conventional unit. The overall design of the Mitsubishi Outlander looks more solid, simple and safe.
The interior of the new Outlander, confirms a sports car design. New Outlander has a capacity of seven passengers, with a soft touch interior, new dashboard is intended to be a better driver concentration, and also multifunction steering shaft and instrument panel are more apparent.
The windshield offers better vision, xenon headlights, dual-zone air-con, a cargo area for larger capacity. Security features Forward Collision Mitigation System, cruise control and lane driving.
Choice of engines with 2.0 liter MIVEC petrol engine and diesel engine 2.2 liter MIVEC. There were also front-wheel drive options and all-wheel drive system, and features stop-start engine, six-speed automatic gearbox and the economical driving mode. Outlander has a target of less than 130g/km of CO2 emissions in the conventional model.
