Melbourne: "Pursuit 02" will be featured and demonstrated at the exhibition "Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show," in Australia on Friday, November 25.
Compressed-air Pursuit 02 will be demonstrated at "Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show
An industrial design student at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia, Dean Benstead, managed to create a prototype of a motorcycle that uses high pressure air fuel.
Motorcycle unique "02 Pursuit" by Benstead was based on the geometry of motocross 250 cc, and using gear WR250F, combined with the air engine DiPietro as its driving force.
With that machine, "02 Pursuit" can travel at more than 100 km / h or 62 mph. But remember the first prototype was developed with a focus on design rather than engineering, Benstead believes that the performance of the engine can still be improved again.
"The concept of this motorbike was created from a sketch of research on the computer, before the chassis and bodywork construction and fabrication done at a local factory, Rinlatech technique," says Benstead.
Benstead maked sure that the air moves higher, the fuel that will be quite an important role in the world of the future of transportation. "I want to explore the possibility of compressed air as an alternative fuel, and childhood experience I ride my push bike mountain design," he added.
Benstead saw the possibility of a prototype motorcycle was developed more into a model that could be marketed widely. "The next prototype will have a total redesign, using different materials for the chassis that are currently using steel pipes tubes, will use futuristic aluminum or titanium, to reduce the weight of the motorcycle." Benstead clarify.
