Competition in the premium class car heats up. Mercedes-Benz had to move quickly to counter compatriate competitors, BMW and Audi continues to increase production.
Dieter Zetsche did not dismiss the news that its competitors continue to evolve to claim the top spot in global sales of premium car sales.

Mercedes-Benz has developed vehicle sales in global markets. But the two rivals Audi and BMW have also increased more rapidly. Mercedes-Benz are now in third position, behind the second place Audi, and BMW was ranked first in sales in 2011.
"At the time, we may not be in a position two or three positions. We are Daimler and should be the top. The success of our competitors have to provide extra motivation," said Dieter Zetsche.
