FORD sub-division of India announced that it has sold 71,347 units from January to July 31, 2011, an increase of 45% over the same period last year which only managed to sell as many as 49 131 units.
Until now, Ford has only one plant operating in Maraimalai Nagar, not far from Chennai to produce models Figo, Fiesta Classic (sedan), Endeavour and New Fiesta which was launched last April. He added that the Fiesta is the first vehicle of the eight new vehicles coming into India until 2015. Ford India itself was founded in 1995 which is owned by Ford Motor Company.
