TRW Develops roof Air Bags and it's better you to try it

SINCE the introduction of airbags as an optional facility on the S-Class sedan by Mercedes-enz in 1981, the device has now become standard equipment for passenger vehicles worldwide.

In addition to the air bag on the driver and passenger side, it's been there at the side curtain, knee, rear curtain air bags even on the safety belt.

To free up space on an increasingly crowded in the instrument, the manufacturer of automotive safety TRW is currently developing an air bag on the roof that is expected to replace air bags in the steering wheel and dashboard.

TRW said, moving the air bag system from the front driver and passenger into the roof making the car manufacturers to improve the appearance, ergonomics and function of instruments without compromising vehicle safety.

TRW also added that the system consists of a gas generator bearings and can reduce the cost of developing the vehicle dashboard and steering wheel, because it no longer need to make some kind of 'door'special that can be open when the air bag inflates.

TRW has developed an air bag roof since several years and in the last two years, he coupled with several major European car manufacturers. Even today they have made a big production contracts with vehicle manufacturers that do not mention this brand.

Air bag roof is not expected soon applied to the vehicle. But before that happens, TRW creation devices must be able to prove its worth in the presence of safety agencies around the world in order to replace the role of devices that exist today.
