Toyota Launches Prius Alpha as third Generation of Prius


TOKYO - It's One more that Toyota issued a new variant. Toyota's Prius the third generation, known as A Prius (Prius Alpha) has been launched in Japan.




This vehicle offers an interior with multiple seating arrangements and it is the basis for the five-seat Prius V to be launched in North America this summer. Prius seven seats are planned for Europe in mid-2012.

Prius is a feature two interior configurations: models of two rows of five seats and seven seats, three-model line, third line of the latter assisted by a battery-efficient lithium-ion drive space on the center console.

In addition, the vehicle features the Toyota Hybrid System II, with gear reduction motor speed and Atkinson cycle engine 1.8liter. Fuel efficiency is 73mpg and produces the equivalent CO2 89g/km. This exceeds the standard in Japan in 2010 about fuel efficiency by 25 percent and meet the standards of the new 2015 Japanese fuel efficiency under the Law Concerning Rational Use of Energy.

To reduce environmental impact, Toyota used the Eco-Vehicle Assessment System for companies to review the materials, processing methods and adhesives to the interior. A Prius also has a power indicator wheel vehicle with a hybrid system indicator that shows when the gasoline engine off and the vehicle supported by only the electric motor alone.
