TEXAS - Promoter of MotoGP, Dorna Sports, revealed that it had agreed to Texas as the venue for a official series of races for 10 years, beginning in 2013. Full Throttle Productions, 3FourTexasMGP, and Dorna Sports have agreed that the race was held in Austin, Texas.
Circuits was previously a former racetrack is currently in development. Classes are still contested three, namely the main class (MotoGP), Moto2 and Moto3 (aka dragonfly replacement of 125 cc class was enacted in 2012).
"We are delighted to add the MotoGP calendar in America. It's a privilege to extend the championship down to Texas," said by Carmelo Ezpelata, CEO of Dorna Sports. Ezpelata also stated that his party has a good relationship with Kevin Schwantz (former GP rider) for 20 years.
Texas alone in the arena of top class motor racing has produced a world champion, among others, Kevin Schwantz in 1993. Now, there are two riders who fought, namely the origin of Ben Spies Longview and Colin Edwards.
"For me, this is a dream come true that the MotoGP world championship will take place at home," said Schwantz who now hold positions in 3FourTexasMGP. He confessed, confidently in this race arena and also knew what the popularity of this race. "For the long term, I believe the race in Texas will succeed," Schwantz said that when the defending race Suzuki team.
Austin will be a stopover of third MotoGP circus troupe, after Laguna Seca in Monterey (California) and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis.
