The first Indonesian Electric Car Charging Station was Opened last November by the Mercedes-Benz

TEMPO Interaktif, Jakarta - promising breakthrough made by Mercedes-Benz Indonesia. Holders of the German premium brand would inaugurate the Intelligent Charging Station or the filling station's first electric-powered vehicles in Jakarta. This project was a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, Siemens Indonesia, and the local government of Jakarta. Electric cars used was smart electric drive or smart ed and battery charging station wa made by Siemens.

"This is the first smart car charging stations in Indonesia and Asia. In fact this is the first electric car charging stations in Indonesia," said Dhani M. Yahya, Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing smart under PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, when contacted Monday (22/11) night.

Dhani said the real power for the operation of the smart EV could use regular electricity from home. He said the battery used on the smart was a lithium battery, the same as that used in mobile phones.

However, if you fill out at home which takes 3-8 hours, the battery will continue to charge even though it is full. While at this station - why then called intelligent - because it will stop automatically when the battery charge fully.

"Also at this station there will be no voltage up and down like at home. So to keep the battery life time from her for longer and does not quickly drop," said Dhani.

When asked about the location, Dhani still do not want to disclose. "Just wait for Wednesday tomorrow," he said.
