Citroen is preparing a large crossover or SUV to the Asian automotive market. SUV it plans to begin production late next year or early in 2015.
The announcement was made Citroen CEO Frederic Banzet as quoted in Automotive News, Wednesday (09/18/2013).
This SUV is made using Wild Rubis basis and will not be sold in Europe as the production itself was planned only in China.
Citroen SUV particular Asian market is reportedly going to have a long dimension of 4700 mm and width of 1,590 mm is most likely similar in size to the Volkswagen (VW) Touareg.
"Production model will not be much different from the concept of Wild Rubis. Example, will not use the wheels over 21 inches," said Banzet.
To his own name is still unknown, but a handful of rumors say that this Citroen SUV will use the name of DSX7 or DS7.
Later this SUV also will be manufactured at a new factory located in Shenzhen, China. The plant is the result of a joint venture between Parent Citroen PSA / Peugeot-Citroen and Changan Automobile Group.
Not only that, rumor also mentions that it will be holding a Citroen SUV plug-in hybrid engine that can catapult power 225 hp (165 kW) and the gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.6.
