Rolls-Royce design consideration for Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The new SUV will be used as a direct challenger, Bentley, the most exclusive crossover maker in the world.
"We think intensively to enter the SUV segment," said Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, CEO of Rolls-Royce, as reported by Automotive News, Thursday (09/12/2013).
If the plan was realized, the British manufacturer's SUV will come with a cost greater than Bentley. Own Bentley SUV will be priced at 180 thousand euros. While Rolls-Royce SUV will be priced at 250 thousand euros.
SUV of Rolls-Royce will become part of an upscale shift to an increasingly popular style of driving. Indeed a number of manufacturers have been first set up new models such as the Maserati SUV is already planning to do Levante production, as well as Jaguar, which has a crossover concept at the Frankfurt show.
"SUV segment is very interesting, this is a model that is stable during the crisis, and I think this luxury niche will evolve going forward," said Mueller-Oetvoes.
