Ahead of the launch of the latest bmw electric car i3, BMW disseminate further details about the sophistication of the electric-powered car.
As reported Greencarreports, bmw electric car, i3 is a five-door hatchback with battery electric motor that produces 125-kilowatt (170 horsepower) with a peak torque of 184 lb-ft.
BMW calls the vehicle can go from 0-100 km / h in around 7 seconds.
BMW says the vehicles can take "80 to 100 miles" for one full contents of the battery.
Setting "Eco Pro" can increase the efficiency of about 12 percent.
I3 battery said to contain "approximately 22 kilowatt-hours" with 4 miles for every kwh.Baterai i3 weighing 450 pounds contains lithium-ion.
Front and rear weight ratio "is almost 50: 50". Rear wheel also gets power supply from the electric motor.
There is also an optional 650cc engine which will supply power to battery power if left on a certain percentage.
Two-cylinder petrol engine with a power of 34 horsepower was located in the back but did not disturb the luggage capacity.
The plan, i3 2014 model will be introduced in New York City on July 29.
With the launch, BMW will be the fourth major manufacturer to mass produce electric vehicles, after Tesla, Nissan, and General Motors.
The body is made of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). 2014 model BMW i3 will be the first mass vehicle that uses carbon fibers as the basic body shell.
