This decade will be eras of electric cars and Google realize that and they will be worked out. Google Electric cars will be promosing
Google Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt said there are great opportunities that are shown on the niche of pure electric cars, and I can get involved in it.
The involvement of giant internet based companies to the automotive industry has been significant, especially with regard to connectivity and software systems on the vehicle.
Google claimed was poured massive investment funds for research and development in the automotive industry, including electric cars.
"This is the beginning of a new industry. History memuktikan if new technologies thrive in the new company. I think in the next 20 years, electric cars will become mainstream (mainstream)," said Eric reported by Autocar, yesterday (7/3/2013 ).
Described, including simple electric car technologies and applications continue to grow rapidly. "In the end, people will look into a conventional vehicle and realized why the first complex would drive it," quipped Eric.
He took another example, the camera industry has been left analog and switch to digital era, this also happens to be the car industry.
"I do not know where I can get parts. But, if we could be involved in anything that encourages the creation of new technology, innovation, and other material, for sure we will go," revealed by Eric.
Two months ago, the boss of Tesla (electric car brand from the U.S.) Elon Musk said in talks with Google for the possibility of additional automation features drive on their models. Musk stated, automation technology is a logical step in the evolution of the vehicle, like on an airplane autopilot feature.
"I like the term autopilot rather than drive their own (self-driving). Autopilot sound better and luxurious impression on an airplane, for that we need in the car," said Musk.
One of the typical character of Google is to keep following progressive and innovative technology and Google electric cars is one of that goal of Google to make better life.
