Ford electric cars follow trend to cut the price

Dearborn, - Ford electric cars follow trend to cut the price in order to be more competitive in the market.

After Nissan and Chevrolet, Ford Motor Company followup  lower Ford electric cars, such as the Focus of the original 39 995 U.S. dollars  to 35 995 dollars per unit, and includes the cost of shipping. In addition to competitive balance, this step was taken considering the purchasing power of consumers to electric vehicles is still low due to various reasons, including unlimited mileage, charging time and price of expensive cars.

Although alternative energy vehicle sales grew 12 percent in January-June 2013, the number is still small, just 173 464 units. Prior to Ford electric cars, Nissan had already been circumcised price of Leaf (electric car) 18 per cent to U.S. dollars 28,800  per unit. Another advantage, consumers can repay the 7,500 federal tax dollars. Chevrolet also reduce the price of the Volt plug-in hybrid 4000-5000 dollars.

"Focus Electric car offers products that focus on the needs of consumers, pure electric powered vehicles. The price is more competitive, starting from 35,200 dollars to shape our commitment to providing the best option for consumers," Ford wrote in his official statement, reported by Automotive News, yesterday (10 / 7).

In California, Ford hopes the Focus Electric to hit the market in April last year to local government incentives in the form of tax payments 2,500 U.S. dollars. In the first half of 2013, the Focus Electric sold 900 units, 177 units were last month.
