SHANGHAI-Zero emission is nonsense as said by Maserati CEO and what he said truly credible and trustable as the frontliner of automotive industry.
Wester claim is based on statistics about the average charging efficiency charging. Own electric car charging has an average of approximately 86 grams of CO2 per kilometer in Europe, 110 g / km in the U.S. and 191 g / km in China.
"Diesel and CNG is the answer more obvious if CO2 is the focus. Both are more appropriate answer than hybrids. If we want realistic solutions to emissions regulators need to be more honest then how they calculate emissions. Electric cars is not the answer," added Wester Herald.
Wester also said, Maserati may have to develop a hybrid in the near future. It must comply with the regulations is passed to the economy about fuel efficiency, especially in the United States.
Maserati CEO Harald Wester confirmed, all the talk about zero-emission vehicles are crap. Wester express it as the discussion at the Shanghai Auto Show 2013.
As reported by autoevolution, Tuesday (04/23/2013), CEO of Maserati said the regulatory body itself does not have a reasonable approach, how they measure emissions on a vehicle properly.
"All the talk of zero emissions is nonsense. Nobody speaks about the efficiency of how the battery is charged in a car," said CEO of Maserati, Harald Wester.
"It varies from one area to another area. Depending on how energy is produced, nuclear, coal, and so on. Even the best is not with the internal combustion engine," he added.
