Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake is very helpful

GENEVA-Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake will be embedded on the variant V40, S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 start from May 2013.

Volvo is now getting serious about creating technology for road safety and the environment. Latest creations is the Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake, launched in Geneva Auto Show 2013.

This technology can detect and automatically braking when pedestrians and cyclists suddenly flashed from the front. According to accident data, 50 percent of cyclists on the streets of Europe killed as car collides with.

"As one of the pioneer of automotive safety technology, we are the first in the industry to apply all detection technology and automatic brake simultaneously. From the first generation of auxiliary brakes in 2006 to pedestrian detection with full auto brake in 2010," said Doug Speck, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group.

Modal latest software including the speed of the system, allowing technology to widen the space sensor. Finally detecting and responding to immediate slow down until the stop position. This minimizes the possibility of colliding with cyclists or pedestrians.

This feature combines the functions of cameras and radar. Integrated with grill position, the camera is located in front of the mirror center, and a central control unit. Detect the presence of radar functions are objects and calculate how far. The camera serves to define the object. Central Control unit will continue to monitor and decide what to do.

. Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake is very helpful and we hope it can reduce fatal accident  for pedestrian in maximum.
