Toyota hopes sales in 2013 will grow 25 percent in North America and 189 percent worldwide

TOKYO - Toyota's  managed to sell 7.35 million vehicles globally and 1.87 million vehicles in North America  in 2011 . Toyota expects to sales in 2013 will grow 25 percent in North America and 189 percent worldwide.

Toyota Motor Corp. (TMC) has increased its global sales target of 8.58 million vehicles to 8.8 million units. This statement is known after Toyota managed to shift the highest throne in global car sales which was held by General Motors (GM).

Toyota posted sales of GM cars are superior, which is 4.97 million units and GM's only recorded 4.67 million units. Thus was launched KyodoNews, Tuesday (07/31/2012).

Once plagued with problems such as earthquakes and tsunamis and floods in 2011 and Thailand, this year Toyota experienced a significant recovery, particularly the increase in sales in the automobile market of China and Southeast Asia. The sale could boost global sales had declined sharply.

"We will earnestly study the current market conditions. Although shrouded in some issues like the strengthening of the yen exchange rate and the crisis in Europe, we are optimistic the target would be achieved, "said Toyota spokesman Joichi Tachikawa.
