production of Ford All-new Focus begins around August 2012

Bangkok, - Peter Fleet, Ford Motor President of ASEAN, said the new Focus production begins around August 2012. "The inauguration of the new Ford plant in Rayong (Thailand) has been confirmed in May and we look forward to it," said Fleet on the sidelines of the launch of the new Focus at BIMS 2012.


Equip the new Ford Focus is still the two old machines with new technology. Each of these is the GDI Duratec Ti-VCT 2.0 liter petrol engine with direct injection technology plus twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). This engine is paired with Ford PowerShift automatic transmission 6-speed, dual dry-clutch. This transmission is equipped with features SelectShift Automatic ™, enabling the driver to move the transmission manually. Power output, 170 PS and 200 Nm of torque and 20 percent claimed to be more powerful than the old mode.


The second engine is a Duratec Ti-VCT 1.6-liter, 125 PS and 159 Nm of torque. Equipped with 6-speed automatic transmission with a choice of 5-speed manual transmission. Also offered some clever features such as SYNC, Active Park Assist, Active City Stop, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and the Smart Keyless Entry.


The day after the launch of the All-New Focus in Bangkok, Ford Motor Company immediately place it in the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Muang Thong Tani, Thailand, (26/03/2012). The new Ford Focus offers to consumers Thailand with prices from 959,000 to 1.079 million baht per unit.
