TOKYO - Hydrogen as a fuel has the ability to drive a vehicle that is equivalent to gasoline. Only, its weakness lies in the high cost of producing the fuel cell itself and the investment to set up fuel stations to supply hydrogen fuel.
Japanese auto giant, Toyota intends to produce thousands of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle coming decades. Toyota to assess the future demand for environmentally friendly cars will increase.
"We are preparing to be able to generate tens of thousands per year in 2020," explains Head of Toyota's European Operations, Didier Leroy, as quoted Inautonews, Friday (09/03/2012).
But Toyota has not revealed pricing or marketing plans fuel-cell cars. Toyota has not had a global sales target.
Furthermore, Toyota revealed to reduce the cost and technical barriers to the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are stored before the official sale kepasaran.
