Chevrolet Aveo, Ford Focus, Mercedes-Benz B-Class, the Audi Q3 and the Volvo V60's claimed as European Safest Cars


Brussels, - Euro NCAP Secretary General, Dr Michiel van Ratingen express, with this crash test forced manufacturers to implement the AEB. "Phase AEB relatively stringent system testing and encourage manufacturers to continue to use them on new models that are marketed," said van Ratingen.


This year also raised the percentage of Euro NCAP pedestrian protection, the original minimum of 40 percent to 60 percent now.

Car Safety Assessment Program Performance in Europe (Euro NCAP: New Car Assessment Programme's) issued a list of five new cars safest and marketed based on its segment last year. Five cars that get maximum points, 5 stars with the criteria, the safety of passengers adults, children, pedestrians and system safety relief device is the Chevrolet Aveo (supermini), Ford Focus (small family), Mercedes-Benz B-Class (small MPV ), the Audi Q3 (small 4x4 off-road) and the Volvo V60 (big family).

For runner-up in each category are the Toyota Yaris, Hyundai ix20, Lexus CT200h, Chevrolet Malibu, Opel Zafira Tourer, the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

From the test results, Aveo scored 87 percent for passenger protection of children, Focus 72 percent to test the safety of pedestrians, the B-Class 97 percent of adult passengers the ability to prevent injuries and V60 get complete value for the use of safety features with the help of autonomous emergency braking system (AEB).
