The early history of Toyota
Toyota was not a car company. Sakichi Toyoda (1867-1930) was a Japanese industrialist first. He is one of the inventors of weaving machines.

Toyoda dream to build his own car was constrained during World War II in 1945. Japan experienced a massive bankruptcy because of lost the war. Japanese companies busy to declare bankruptcy, but Toyota will survive and eventually be back producing cars.
But most cars gets the spotlight is Toyopet Crown Model RS who made his debut early in 1955. This car is the first car that actually produced in Japan.
