Toyota itself was originally using the name Toyoda. "But as it is considered less favorable than the marketing side and feng shui, then the name is Toyoda, the founder of the family name was changed to Toyota," said Chairman Kuragaike Toyota Commemorative Museum Hall Koji Matsuura.

The early history of Toyota
Toyota was not a car company. Sakichi Toyoda (1867-1930) was a Japanese industrialist first. He is one of the inventors of weaving machines.
"My father was a weaver, while I was the automobile man," so that is in the minds of children Sakichi Kiichiro (1894-1952).
In Japan in the 1920s-1930s, the U.S. output of cars such as Ford and GM began to come in and assemble the car in Japan. Kiichiro Toyoda was restless and agitated because there is no local automotive manufacturers can succeed from the business side.
After coming back from Europe and the United States, Kiichiro Toyoda began to create their own dream car manufactured by the Japanese state.

The struggle to make Japanese cars continued with the building blocks of cylinders in July 1934. And in September 1935, Toyoda perform test run their cars.
The first passenger cars produced are the Toyoda Model AA Sedan which was released in September 1936.

Toyoda dream to build his own car was constrained during World War II in 1945. Japan experienced a massive bankruptcy because of lost the war. Japanese companies busy to declare bankruptcy, but Toyota will survive and eventually be back producing cars.
But most cars gets the spotlight is Toyopet Crown Model RS who made his debut early in 1955. This car is the first car that actually produced in Japan.
