Honda's HEV applies SH-AWD for their electric cars

TOKYO, - Honda introduced a prototype of hybrid electric cars (Hybrid Electric Vehicle: HEV) with gasoline engines and electric motors apart in front, plus two more in the back.

Honda's HEV applies SH-AWD for their electric cars

According techon.nikkeibp.co.jp, Honda's goal to create this system so that the car's performance is equivalent when using the V-8 engine but the fuel consumption is equal to 4-cylinder inline engine. HEV is a prototype that is based on the model of the Accord for the North American market.

HEV of this hybrid system, the gasoline engine mounted transversely in front and is associated with an electric motor (in front) with double-clutch transmission (dual clutch transmission / DCT) 7-speed direct result of Honda.

Two electric motors in the rear has the same power, placed in the center of axel, which connects the right and left tires.

Work Mode
When the HEV starts to move or walk slowly, its driving force comes from the electric motor in the rear. When power is needed to grow, the front electric motor functioning. The greater power is required, turn the gasoline engine and then go to work.

To control the electric motor, Honda's Super Handling All use a function-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), which was introduced in in 2004. Allocation of the driving force for the two rear wheels adapted to conditions of employment through two motor cars behind. That's why Honda's new hybrid system calls with "SH-AWD-powered electricity".

For example, when HEV turn right, the car driven by (1) right rear wheel electric motors. Furthermore, the left rear wheel electric motor (2) and front-wheel electric motors (3) directed rolled back or it could be equally forward. In this way the force roll (yaw) can be controlled, the car was so much easier to turn right.

Recycling Energy
Furthermore, with this technology, allowing also charge with electricity recyclable directly by an electric motor that rotates the right rear wheel backwards (regenerate).

In the SH-AWD Honda's still used today, removed the engine power to the rear through as coupling. The allocation of power to the rear wheels regulated by this component. For the current version, directly by an electric motor mounted on both rear wheels.

HEV uses gasoline engine V6, 3.5 L direct injection. Listrikdepan motor power output 30 kW or higher. Each of the two rear motor-powered 20 kW or greater. Honda also install the coupling between the two motors. The power source is a lithium-ion battery that can be made by Blue Energy Co. completed., Ltd..
