Chiang Rai - "Duramax turbo-diesel engine on the All New Colorado has nothing to do with the Isuzu D-Max," said Global Vehicle Chief Engineer (Mid Size Truck) GM, Roberto R. Rempel when responding to questions from journalists on the sidelines test drive the all-new Chevrolet Colorado in Chiang Rai, Thailand, Wednesday (26/10/2011).
Despite having a platform, General Motors (GM) Chevrolet Colorado rejected if they produce so-called twin sister of the Isuzu D-Max. GM thinks they have more differences than similarities.

Rempel also expressly said that if GM wants to make diesel engines as well as the best car in its class with a high economic level.

In the hands of GM, Colorado is provided with two options Duramax turbo diesel engines with a capacity of 2500 cc and 2,800 cc.
2500 cc engine has a power of up to 150 horsepower (110 kW) and torque to 350 Nm. While the 2800 cc engine turbo-diesel engine produces 180 horsepower (132 kW) with torque of 470 Nmyang channeled through a 6 speed automatic transmission.
While the Isuzu D-Max has a choice of two engine capacity ie 2500 cc and 3,000 cc Euro5 emission standards.
2500 cc engine Variable geometry turbochargers (VGS Turbo) has a power of 136 PS and 320 Nm of torque, for VGS turbo 3,000 cc engine can catapult power 177 PS and 380 Nm of torque.
For his gearbox, Isuzu provides a 5-speed automatic transmission "Rev-Tronic" which has a sport mode and a 5-speed manual transmission with 2WD and 4WD drive system.
"Drive trainnya been designed in accordance with all conditions, and now All New Colorado is often problematic," he concluded.
On the other hand Rempel explained if the drive train on the All New Colorado cars are designed better than other brands that play in the same class. GM has continued Rempel renews drive train All New Colorado making it suitable for all conditions.
