It's sold at USD4.200.000, oldest classic car in 1884

Hersey - As reported by autoevolution, Monday (10/10/2011) 127-year-old car was purchased by a collector in an auction organized by RM Hersley in Pennsylvania, United States. One look at this car, the collector is directly interested in buying it.


the world's oldest car produced in 1884 made by De Dion Bouton et Trapardoux Dos-a-Dos Runabout Steam sold at high prices, USD4.200.000.

Furthermore, this car in addition to having a fairly old age, is also one of the first car to use steam as the driving motor, such as marine vessels. This car also has many unique history, such as when the early convening of a model racing car.

Currently the car is only five units remaining of the total 20 units ever produced. In the new state 127 years ago, this car is capable of running with a maximum speed of 60 kph and the average speed of 26.1 kph with the distance of 32.1 km with one tank of water.
