Tokyo: Toyota Motor plans to record with ever increasing car production to 8.9 million units worldwide in 2012.
In its production plan in the next year, Toyota also set a target of overseas production around 5.4 million units, mainly in India and China. In Japan, Toyota plans to build about 3.5 million cars, including a new hybrid model. It also continues to pursue recovery of the factories in the region affected by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11.
This is done by Japanese automakers to respond to the many requests of developing countries in Asia.
Toyota will complete a more detailed plan later this year, taking into account the strength of the yen and the U.S. and European economic uncertainty.
Toyota estimates the total global output in 2012 increased almost 23 percent from this year's total figure would be a new record since 2007 before the financial crisis.
