New small car will be launched by Toyota in 2013
Toyota Motor Corporation is currently preparing a new small car, specially designed for the China market.
Cars equipped with 1.5 liter petrol engine and priced at under 1 million yen. To achieve this price, Toyota is likely to maximize the use of components that are also used by Etios. In addition, funds 40 billion yen reportedly also been prepared by Toyota to build new factory in China with a capacity of 200,000 units per year.
Meanwhile, Toyota is also planning to increase production capacity in India Etios of 80,000 units per year to be 190,000 units in 2013. In Brazil, Toyota is also ready to launch cheap car next year with a planned production of 70,000 units per year.
With this new model, Toyota is hoping to hoist the market share in China by cooperating with local manufacturers partner China FAW Group and Guangzhou Automobile Group.
