Honda is still clearing the budget for the 2012 season, so the rumors they delay a contract extension offer to Simoncelli. Apparently, the situation would like to approach it used Ducati, as well as test the loyalty of Honda Simoncelli, despite the fact that Ducati have Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden, the new contract will end next season.
Simoncelli management consultant, Carlo Pernat, told MCN: "Now we are waiting for an offer from Honda. We ask that bids in Brno. Of course, Ducati did not stay silent, because they are attracted to Marco.

Responding to rumors, the boss of Ducati, Alessandro Cicognani, immediately dismissed. He asserted that the Ducati has never made a formal approach to former world champion in the 250cc class.
"No, absolutely not. We have riders who have signed contracts until next season, that Nicky and Valentino, and we will stick to this."
Until the first half ended, Simoncelli is ranked 10 and has collected a total of 60 points. He is 133 points adrift of the Repsol Honda rider, Casey Stoner, who was at the top of the standings.
In this season, Simoncelli champion actually has always been a favorite in every series. Unfortunately, Honda Gresini rider is often careless, so although resilient during the practice sessions and qualifying, he failed during the race due to more frequent accidents.
