Kia Celebrates 20 Years of His presence in the UK and happy birthday

PRODUCER of cars from South Korea, yesterday celebrated the first 20 years of selling cars in Britain. In 1991, a small hatchback is the only Pride Kia models are offered in the UK and sold only 1786 units.

Two decades is a very long time in the automotive industry. Since then Kia has turned into an important player on a global scale. In 2010, Kia sold 56,114 units in the UK and for the first time in more than 2 million units worldwide.

Not bad for a company that started the move as a simple bicycle maker in 1950 which later grew into a part of the fourth largest automotive group in the world (along with parent company Hyundai) with a presence in over 170 countries.

The year 2006 was a turning point in Kia's history. With the appointment of Peter Schreyer as head designs make their products to attract consumer emotions.
