MUNICH, Germany, - German machinery industry is still a reference to the world, not least automotive. Now, ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show, 15 to 25 September 2011, students from the Technical University Munich (TUM) in Germany will be exhibiting MUTE, their creation electric car.
Worldcarfans quoted as saying on Thursday (14/07/2011), which designs cars like the Mitsubishi ASX it only weighs 500 kg and equipped with powerful 22 PS electric motor to drive the rear wheels. MUTE Acceleration 0-60 km per hour recorded 6.8 seconds and touch the top speed of 120 miles per hour. Electric energy intake derived from lithium-ion battery 10 kWh.

"Light weight becomes very important for electric vehicles. If the load more, would need a larger battery capacity and consequently higher costs. Our goal is to create an environmentally friendly car, but have affordable and comfortable driving," said Professor Mark Lienkamp, Chairman of the Automotive Technology Department TUM.
There has been no further info if this concept car is mass produced or offered to the producers of cars in Germany.
