Stockholm: The electric car is the product of the future. In the middle of scarcity from fossil energy sources including oil, stun-powered vehicle is an answer. That's why, now car manufacturers are producing electric cars more and more.

Latest news mention that luxury car manufacturers from Swadia, Saab, has also been producing electric cars, namely, Saab 9-3 ePower. "In 2015, sales of electric vehicles will be reaching for 500 units on average per year, and Saab want to play an important role there," said January Ake Jonsson, Chief Executive Officer of Saab Automobiles as quoted themotorreport.com as saying on Monday (20 / 9).


The plan is implied that stun-powered sedan will be brought to the mat of Paris Auto Show 2010 which it took place September 30 to October 17 next.

Sedan is equipped by a lithium ion battery in a capacity of 35.5 kilo watt hour (kWh). Batteries support the electric motor to generate power by 181 horsepower.

Despite the powerful stun released, however the performance sedan is quite capable. Acceleration from 0-100 kilometers per hour for example is achieved in just 8.5 seconds. In fact, if the battery is filled, the car can travel a distance of 200 kilometers.

Battery charging process is quite simple. Saab calls that the filling can be done at home electrical installations. The time was quite brief, lasting six hours.
