PARIS-For loyal owners of motorcycles and cars in France, get ready to see years of exciting vehicle production. The reason, as reported by ukfrancebikers on Monday (4/11/2011), French Ecology Minister Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet propose the age limit of vehicles allowed to enter the eight cities, namely Paris, Bordeaux, Nice, Lyon, Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand, Aix -en-Provence, and Saint-Denis.
In Nathalie's proposal submitted, it's motorcycle under production July 1, 2004 and car production in 1997 under the year banned from eight cities. These regulations come into force in 2012.
Indeed, this proposal has not been fully approved by the Government of France. However, if it's effectively implemented, then at least 1.6 million motorcycles are threatened to be damaged goods next year. For those who violate, then Natalie proposed a monetary fine and possible confiscation by force in place.
This proposal certainly evokes loud protests from the French Federation of Angry Bikers (The Fédération Française des Motards en Colère or FFMC) who started doing demonstrations to reject the plan. They threatened mass action that could paralyze activities in the city during working hours.
"The motorcycle just do not already meet the regulations set forth Euro3 2003, but also served to reduce exhaust gas emissions throughout France because it only accounted for 0.23 percent of total carbon dioxide produced," said FFMC.
