American automotive Industry is more confidence when GM recently make own Lithium-ion battery for Cevy Volt for first production

BROWNSTOWN Township - To support the production of the Chevrolet Volt at the end of this year, General Motors (GM) yesterday to launch lithium-ion batteries produced by its own. The factory is located in Brownstown, Michigan.

According to GM, this is the first time in the United States, car manufacturers produce their own lithium-ion batteries for produced vehicles . Chevrolet Volt will use this battery which it is a series hybrid car. Cars are driven directly by electric motors which those receive power supply from the battery.




To extend the "breath" of a long journey, the Chevy Volt is also equipped by 1.4 liter gasoline engine. This machine is only served to turn the generator used to charge the battery.

The process of manufacturing the battery covers the process of making cells, modules, and battery. Volt battery packs made by itself consists of modules together. Each module contains 200 cell battery.

GM received approximately 241 million U.S. dollars from the federal government, including 106 million U.S. dollars to make the battery packaging plant.
