California - After producing Roadster and Model S luxury electric sedan, Tesla Motors intends to produce a variant of Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for electric car. The plan, stun-powered SUV called the X models will be produced by 2013.
Before the models of electric car were produced from California, United States, it will introduce a sedan model of S. This car is being produced in 2011 and marketed in 2012.
"We will ensure that the current model of production process work out. As we planned for two years later, we will produce model X (SUV)," said Elon Musk, Chief Executive Officer of Tesla Motors as revealed by autoevolution.com, Saturday (30/10).
SUV will use the sedan's platform model of S. the electric power storage battery is not much different. Both use litihium ion batteries made by Panasonic Co.. Japan.
In Wednesday (27/10), electric car manufacturer officially opened a plant in Fremont California, USA. The factory is devoted to produce sedan S model and several other models will be marketed in the future.
As reported marketwatch.com, Wednesday (27/10), the plant was previously owned by manufacturer of electric cars, the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc.
