GM feels definite confidence to release Sonic Sedan

Detroit - General Motors (GM) launched a hatchback of version of Chevrolet Sonic - the reincarnation of the Chevrolet Aveo cars - in the carpet Detroit Auto Show 2011.

Now GM as Chevrolet's parent company is poised to bring the sedan version of Sonic mat Geneva Auto Show 2011, March.

As reported by autoevolution.com, GM claims the car is designed in accordance with the standards and tastes of consumers in Europe. "Bodi ie, using body structure frame integral (BFI) and thus it provide comfort and stability, including the handling," said by the manufacturer.


In order to support the body design, the GM also uses McPherson Strut suspension device for front wheel suspension. As a result, the car remains stable and well damped shocks and it feels soft.

Stability and ease of control of the car is also supported by the use of the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). As for supporting security, Sonic Chevrolet sedan was equipped by devices of Antilock Braking Brake System (ABS).

There are several variants of engines offered by GM's four-door sedan, both gasoline and diesel. Varian engine is 1200 cc engine powered by 70-86 horsepower, 1400 cc engine-powered by 100 horsepower, and the 1600 cc engine that produces 115 horsepower power. All variants are a four-cylinder engine.

"Aveo is an important step forward for us in everything, especially the design, handling, quality and capacity of the space," said Waynen Brannon, Managing Director of Chevrolet for the European region.

He claimed Aveo - which it is an older model Sonic - a fifth best-selling four-door sedan in Europe. Last year, the sedan was holding a 12.5 percent market share in European sedans.

"Now with a newer model, we believe there will be increasing (sales) significantly," he said.
