Investigations conducted by the United States government agency concluded the electronic system of Toyota Motor Corp. did not cause acceleration beyond the will of the driver.
As reported by Reuters, the results of the investigation was a major victory for the largest car manufacturers in the world.
Toyota is trying to recover from the case of accidents from their vehicles is said to move faster by itself on the road.
This finding confirms Toyota's position that it has found and cleared security problems on vehicles like the Camry. Toyota corrective measures focus on mechanical issues on the accelerator and the risk of carpet which it can withstand the pedal.
"There is no electronic based cause and the acceleration outside the will of the Toyota vehicle," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement.
Toyota shares traded in the U.S. ends at position 4 percent higher after the government's findings is announced.
Investigations conducted by Road Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) and the NASA's space agency engineers was conducted to respond to questions from some safety campaigners and several senates about the possibility of software-driven throttle and defects in electronic control systems have a role in the case of acceleration out of control.
The researchers conclude that most cases of unwanted acceleration, it is the fault of the driver.
"The biggest possibility is pedal misapplication. The driver stepped on the gas, it was not brake, or in addition to the brakes, they stepped on the gas" said Ronald Medford, deputy administrator of NHTSA.
Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's executive in charge of maintaining the quality after the case of a recall happened last year said that Toyota expects the results of the study to "bury speculation that does not support" about Toyota's safety electronics system.
"We believe that the scientific analysis by several leading engineers will strengthen confidence in the security of Toyota and Lexus vehicles," Angelo said in a statement.
Minister LaHood, who last year triggered panic because Toyota was urging owners to stop using a vehicle, now says "We think Toyota is the vehicle safe to drive."
Getting Consumers back
Now, Toyota has come out of the hurdles, however analysts warned that the company was still struggling to reclaim the American consumer who has defected from luxury brand Lexus.
Toyota recalled nearly 16 million vehicles globally since September 2009 as the first step of a series of steps to fix the problem on the "sticky" accelerator and dangerous the carpet .
Toyota President, Akio Toyoda came to Washington last year to tell U.S. lawmakers that he was "deeply sorry."
Toyota to pay nearly 50 million dollars of fines in the United States during the recall cases, including cases of floor mat and "sticky pedal."
The U.S. government has focused on 89 cases of death which it might be related to a sudden acceleration in Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
A few cases of death has been ascertained to related problems, including four accidents Lexus sedan in California in August 2009 that the culprit is the carpet floor.
NASA examined nine of Toyota vehicles, even they bombard them with electromagnetic radiation to see whether their systems will be failed or notl. The result of NASA study concluded that electronic throttle Toyota is not having problems.
