Electric Cars at Republic of Indonesia Can be realized in 10 Year Again

Jakarta - If the government take seriously and begin to repay theinfrastructure development of electric cars from now, Indonesia is believed to enjoy the presence of an electric car without a hitch in10 years again .

As for hybrid cars, Indonesia is predicted to be enjoying it much faster than the deadline provided that the government was willing to give incentives to environmentally friendly cars.

As disclosed by Vice President of Asia Pacific field of Automotive and Transport from Frost & Sullivan, Vivek Vaidya at the Intercontinental Hotel of Mid-Plaza, Sudirman Street, Jakarta, Tuesday(25/01/2011).

"Hybrids do not need special equipment and it is suitable for situations of 'stop and go' street like Jakarta. For our hybrid cars, we are ready. Only the price just is not ready. Here, the Indonesian government should move to give incentives," he said.

As for electric cars, they are even more complicated by Vaidya. Because the government must build supporting facilities, especially where the rechargeable energy (charge) is to be built.

"docking station must exist in many places. If the government would be effortlessly begun from now, 5-10 years from now we can enjoy it,"explains Vaidya.

But the problem according to Vaidya doesn't seem to realize the seriousness of the government of Indonesia for environmentally friendly cars such as electric cars.

As a result, predictions of Vaidya also still seems far away to be realized. Because letting itself electric charging facilities for electric cars, gas stations that sell gasoline quality such as Pertamax andPertamax Plus only until they recently has not been evenly distributed throughout Indonesia.

"I agree with Vaidya. It is very difficult for an electric car if the situation is still like this now," said First Chairman of the Indonesian Automotive Industries Joint (Gaikindo) Jongkie D Sugiarto in the same place.
